How to care for a full-color resin figurine

Keep a finished resin figurine on a stable indoor surface away from direct sun and heat. Dust it lightly with a clean, soft, dry brush. Lift it by its base or another sturdy section, not delicate accessories. Do not soak it or apply alcohol or household cleaner. If something is stained or broken, photograph it and ask Miniu before trying a repair.

A simple routine after unboxing

A finished figurine may have a solid base and surprisingly fine details in the same piece. The small sunflower petals, hands, and facial features in the real Miniu example above show why a little care with placement and handling matters more than an elaborate cleaning kit.

  1. Find a stable indoor shelf away from direct sun and heat.
  2. Keep the whole base supported and back from the edge.
  3. Lift loose dust with a clean, soft, dry brush.
  4. When moving the model, hold its base and a sturdy section.
  5. If you see a stain or damage, photograph it and contact Miniu before trying a cleaner or glue.

This advice concerns a finished Miniu display figurine. It is not a guide to washing uncured resin during manufacturing, and it does not establish the care requirements of another maker’s painted object.

Find a safe place to display it

A desk, shelf, or enclosed cabinet can work if the base sits flat and the model is unlikely to be bumped. A cabinet reduces dust and casual handling, but leave enough room to lift the piece without catching a raised arm or accessory.

In Thailand, a shelf can be shaded in the morning and in direct afternoon sun. Look at the actual light before choosing a permanent spot. Continued direct sunlight and heat can affect the appearance of some printed resins over time. Avoid balconies, outdoor displays, hot windowsills, and parked cars. Ordinary room light is fine as a practical display choice; the point is to avoid prolonged direct exposure, not to hide the piece in darkness.

Keep the model away from the edge of a shelf and from places where a child or pet might knock it down. If you want to turn it for a better view, rotate the base instead of twisting a head or prop.

Remove dust with as little contact as possible

For routine care, use a clean, very soft brush while the base is supported on a stable surface. Sweep lightly from broader areas toward the folds, hair, and base details. Do not push into narrow gaps if a thin feature begins to move.

Avoid stiff brushes, rough cloth, hard rubbing, or a strong blast of air close to delicate parts. Do not spray water, alcohol, glass cleaner, or other household products onto the model. Do not soak the whole figurine. A cleaning method that works on PVC toys or a hand-painted statue may not suit Miniu’s full-color finish.

If a mark does not lift with gentle dry dusting, stop. Take a clear photograph in good light and ask the Miniu team to assess the finish before recommending another cleaning method.

Moving and storing the figurine

Check which parts are structural before picking the piece up. Support its base with one hand and steady a strong part of the model with the other. Flowers, glasses, fingers, hair tips, tails, and other projecting details are not carrying handles, even when the whole figurine seems light.

For a move, keep the model separate from other hard objects. Support the base inside a box and cushion the sides so the piece cannot shift, without pressing packing material against delicate projections. Store the box somewhere dry and away from heat. Do not leave it inside a car parked in the sun. Once unpacked, check the base and small details before putting it back on display.

When something breaks or becomes stained

Keep any detached parts, and photograph both the whole object and the damaged area. Avoid sanding, repainting, or gluing it immediately: the correct next step depends on the break and surface. Send the pictures and your order number through the contact page so Miniu can assess the piece.

If you are still deciding what to order, the full-color resin versus hand-painting guide explains how the finishes differ. The size guide helps you consider fine features before choosing a format, and the custom figurine page covers the photo-to-Preview workflow.

Useful answers

Frequently asked questions

Can I clean a full-color resin figurine with alcohol?

Do not apply alcohol or another household cleaner to a Miniu figurine without checking its effect on the finish. Start with gentle, dry dusting using a clean soft brush. For a stubborn mark, photograph it and ask Miniu for advice specific to that piece.

Can I wash or soak the figurine?

Washing or soaking the whole figurine is not recommended. Small features and assembled elements may be vulnerable. Do not spray water or cleaner directly onto the model; use dry dusting for ordinary maintenance.

Is a window ledge a good display spot?

Choose a spot that does not receive prolonged direct sun. Light and heat can change the appearance of some resins over time. Check the light at different times of day before using a shelf beside a window.

How should I pick it up?

Support the base and a sturdy part of the model, using two hands for larger or more complex pieces. Avoid lifting it by fingers, hair, glasses, flowers, tails, or narrow props.

Should I glue a broken piece back myself?

Keep every fragment and photograph the affected area. Contact Miniu before applying glue, paint, or polish. The repair approach depends on the break and surface finish, and an unsuitable product may make later work harder.

Can children play with a resin figurine?

Miniu figurines are display objects. Small features can chip or detach after impact, so keep the model away from young children's play areas and from spots where a pet might knock it down.
