The Art Toy world is built around strong characters. A designer develops a visual identity, releases a series, and collectors choose or sometimes unbox one of the available designs. That experience is about entering an existing character universe.

A custom Miniu begins with your own universe. It can represent you, a partner, a friend, a pet, or a character you have drawn yourself. Instead of choosing a finished product from a shelf, you decide which features carry the story: a familiar outfit, a profession, a favourite colour, a hobby, or one object that the recipient would recognise immediately.

Miniu is therefore useful when you like the expressive proportions and display quality associated with Art Toys, but want the model to be personal. It is not a blind box, a mass-manufacturing package, or an AI image that remains on your phone.

Choose the right starting material for the idea

You do not need a finished 3D file. Start with whichever reference communicates the character most clearly:

• A personal photo for yourself, a partner, family member, friend, or gift recipient
• A pet photo that shows distinctive markings, posture, and personality
• A drawing or sketch for an original 2D character you want to see as a display model
• A written concept with references for a profession, hobby, outfit, or meaningful scene
• An original character sheet when you already know the colours, silhouette, and important attributes

For a person, choose a photo where the face, hairstyle, clothing, and body information are easy to read. For a drawing, identify which colours and shapes are essential and explain any important feature that is hidden in the single view. Build recognition around a few signature details

A character does not become more personal simply by adding everything. At a small physical scale, too many competing objects can make the important ideas harder to notice. A stronger brief normally identifies a short hierarchy:

1. Silhouette and proportion — rounded, Chibi, playful, or closer to real proportions
2. Expression and attitude — cheerful, calm, mischievous, confident, or fantastical
3. Outfit and colour palette — the clothing or colours most associated with the person
4. One signature object — perhaps a camera, instrument, book, sports item, cooking tool, or game controller
5. Base and short message — a name, date, or phrase that gives the piece context

Pick a style for the personality, not only the trend

The same source photo can lead to very different characters. Miniu offers several starting directions:

• Cute creates a warm, approachable gift character without pushing the proportions too far
• Chibi uses a more distinctive stylised proportion for playful poses, hobbies, and expressive personalities
• Kawaii favours brightness, softness, and an intentionally cheerful mood
• Realistic keeps more of the person’s natural proportion and can give clothing or professional details greater presence

You can then add a theme linked to the person or original idea: chef, doctor, athlete, gamer, musician, explorer, astronaut, wizard, ninja, fantasy, or another available direction. These are broad creative themes for an original result, not a promise to reproduce another company’s character.

From an idea to one physical Art Toy-style model

Define the subject and character direction

Choose one person, a couple, group, pet, or drawing. Then select the style, theme, and full-body or bust composition.

Upload the strongest reference

Add the clearest photo or drawing and describe the details that must remain visible. These choices are carried into the Miniu app when you continue.

Generate and review a Preview

After signup or login, the app creates a Preview of the initial character direction. This is where you assess the pose, mood, outfit, colours, and principal details before committing to a physical order.

Choose the physical format

Once the direction is visible, select the size, base, available accessories, and optional services. The complete total is shown before checkout.

Pay in THB and follow production

Pay by PromptPay or card when offered at checkout. After confirmation, Miniu prepares the production file, prints and finishes the model, packs it, and sends it to your address in Thailand. The how it works page explains each production stage.

What the Preview can and cannot confirm

The Preview makes the creative decisions visible before production. Use it to inspect:

• Overall style and character proportion
• Expression, pose, and attitude
• Clothing, palette, and theme
• Placement of important accessories
• Full-body or bust composition

It should not be treated as a pixel-perfect promise of the final object. A physical model has real dimensions, material behaviour, minimum thicknesses, and stability requirements. Very fine textures, thin objects, or subtle colours can require adjustment, especially at smaller sizes.

Current sizes and starting prices

More size gives the design additional room for clothing, facial information, props, and colour separation. These are starting prices for one model; multiple subjects, bases, accessories, scenes, and complexity can change the total.

Original details matter more than imitating a famous figure

The most memorable personal model does not need to resemble a trending collectible. A recognisable everyday detail can carry more meaning: a football shirt, a coffee order, a pet’s habitual pose, a graduation gown, a musical instrument, or the tool someone uses every day.

Use photos, artwork, names, logos, and characters that you own or have permission to use. If you enjoy superhero, fantasy, gaming, or film aesthetics, describe the mood, palette, and broad theme you want. Avoid requesting an exact copy of protected characters or trademarks without authorization.

When does a personal Art Toy make a good gift?

A custom character works when the recipient’s story is more important than the product category. It can mark a birthday, graduation, anniversary, wedding, team achievement, pet memory, or the moment an old sketch finally becomes something physical.

Most orders take about 3-4 weeks after payment confirmation, including production preparation, printing, finishing, packing, and delivery.
